I am a pretty new Graphene OS user and I am still trying to figure out what the best User Profile Setup would be for me. I mainly browsed this forum and used the following guide: https://seprand.github.io/articles/best-user-profile-setup/. I just have a few additional questions to help me understand how everything works.
The guide I linked above says the following: Some users who tend to use profiles a lot like to set up their owner profile to push apps to other profiles. Some install Sandboxed Google Play in their owner profile, but not in other profiles so they can push apps to profiles where Sandboxed Google Play is not installed. What are you supposed to do as a user once this step is completed? Delete the installed apps from the “owner profile”?
From what I’ve read, when an app is updated, it is updated across all profiles (private space(s) included). Is that true regardless of which ‘store’ does the update? Example: I install an open source app via Obtanium and use the Settings > System > Users > Profile > Install available apps feature to install it on a secondary user profile. Would it be possible for that app to be updated if I uninstalled it from my owner profile after "pushing" it to a secondary profile, even if that secondary profile doesn't have Obtanium installed? Basically can an app fetch an update from an app store (Obtanium, Google Play etc.) that is installed on another profile, but not on the profile where the app is installed?
Initially I wanted to have one profile only and keep most of my Google Play Apps (except banking for example) in Private Space. However, this seems to be inconvenient as I cannot push apps from private space to “main space” (only the other way around). I was also unaware that it is not possible to push apps from a secondary profile to the owner profile, which I tried to do afterwards.
Anyway if someone could answer these questions or give me recommendations on what would be the best way to proceed, that would be helpful!
