GrapheneOS I am happy you decided too release it to stable, i was going to change to the beta channel if not as the issue with wifi was not a a big deal for me.

I don't know if this was just coincidence or not, but once this installed onto my Pixel 9a, the clock on the home screen wouldn't load and every time I rebooted, I'd get a 2FA notification from Band of America (I do have that app on the phone, but I signed out of it and swiped everything away on the running apps screen). I cleared that up by simply booting into Safe Mode and back. I assume something got stuck somewhere and that cleared it. Everything's fine, now.

use default desktop mode configuration since our changes are no longer needed to enable features and caused crashes for at least 1 user which were addressed with an out-of-band release prior to this one

I seem to have lost the ability to put items into windowed-mode. Is this related to the default desktop mode configuration?

Edit: Looks like dev options are disabed after post-installation reboot and that's my issue.

You can resolve this moving over your icons. We don't know why it happened for a tiny subset of users but it's straightforward to fix yourself. It's too late to do something about it once it has already happened as we don't want to mess up people's intentional configuration.

I also had this issue for one of my profiles.

GrapheneOS You can resolve this moving over your icons.

Doing this resolved it.

GrapheneOS Whats happening for me on my pixel tablet is that i never got the irremovable home screen but now if i either install a new app or install a pwa app is wont go to the home screen and after sometime has past it will appear in a second home screen (i only use 1 home screen).
Not a big deal as can rearrange the apps, but maybe worth a mention.

Just checked my p7a also, similar thing, however it does it straight away and just makes a second home page and puts it there (again i have only 1 homepage and spaces for more apps)

Since this update I can no longer open the notification pull down from one handed mode. The edit button in the share sheet is also not working but that's been the case since QPR2 released

SkynetPrime the solution is pretty simple: move your icons from screen 2 to the newly inserted home screen. Once all icons have been moved away, screen 2 will be gone.

SkynetPrime Same behavior here.
Newly installed apps are not placed on the first home screen, even when empty slots are available.

Maybe the launcher just needs to be stopped and "reset", like the problem I had?

Having lived with the abysmal Wi-Fi speeds and increased latency for several days now, I would've said that it's inadvisable to release this to the Stable channel for 7a, unless there was an urgent need to do so.

It's a shame that this still hasn't been fixed in AOSP given that it was first reported in early October.

nandohyphen1 After stopping the launcher, it worked at first.
In a newly created user account, the issue still occurred.
After switching back to the main user, the problem came back.
I also powered the phone off and on again, but the behavior did not change.

nandohyphen1 Seemed to fixed the delay but newly installed apps still are creating a second home screen and installing them there with space availble on the main home screen.

Going to factory reset my Tablet and 7a today and ill see if that helps.

BlackShadow I have this update: 2025121701. I tried ti reboot the phone, but nothing. I can't reset the phone 'cause my mail access has a 2FA and actually I don't have any other phone or PC 😅

SkynetPrime Factory reset on my pixel tablet complete.
Problem does not go away. After factory reset and going threw the setup, your presented with the normal first home screen (no second home screen)

Using Obtainium (only way i install my apps), once first app is installed a second home screen is made and the installed app goes there.

Playing around i turned off in home settings Add app icons to home screen then reinstalled another app, as expected the app does not go to any home screen. Once turning on Add app icons to home screen and then installing a few more apps, my original problem occurs.. Apps do not go to any home screen. However once forcing the launcher app to Stop, all the apps that should of gone to home screen instantly create a second home screen again and go there.

Not going to bother factory resetting my p7a now as kinda pointless and only working around that makes sense now is just to turn off Add app icons to home screen and just move the newly installed apps from the launcher. Note PWAs will still create a second home screen and install there.

I officially give up now with this issue lol

SkynetPrime Well instead of factory resetting your tablet wouldnt it just be faster dragging and dropping the apps to the desired home screen?
