Messaging v12 Constant Crashing

Recently installed the OS and everything worked fine for about a week. Last few days have had repeated issues with default Messaging app. Messages duplicate or are missed and app crashes while typing. I've cleared the cache and reset sim network settings but problem continues. Didn't see this exact issue when searching but apologies if I missed it. Any recommendations on this issue? Would prefer to continue utilizing the default app.

Apologies for the delay and thanks for the response. At the time of the crash, just SMS, but have had MMS sent/received as well. Oddly enough the app completely crashes when typing straight SMS, haven't had it occur when drafting media or receiving. I did import a backup of texts upon initial OS install. The issue does not occur at all with Google Messages.

T22s if you did restore a backup try clearing cache/storage on the Messaging app and see if it helps. It is known to cause issues sometimes.

MetropleX Thank you. Confirming this was also a recurring, non-random issue for me after importing SMS and MMS to GOS Messaging version 12, using the app SMS Backup & Restore from Play Store. Clearing the cache of the Messaging app solved the issue. Long press Messaging app icon -> info icon -> Storage & cache -> Clear cache.
