systemwide equalizer

hi! ive been having issues and problems with different third party equalizer apps simply not working or only working on very specific sources (yes i know thats more of an issue with what they are built for). so i havent found anything that works globally, which is a problem since im very sensitive to sound. for me this is an accessibility issue, sound is painful.
would it be possible in the future to get a system wide eq integrated in the os?

razorbill wavelet has worked fine for my limited use case, have you had trouble with it?

tarbeez yeah, didnt work on tidal, antennapod or any adio from my browser

GrapheneOS comes with built-in 'MusicFX' (same as Google OS) and has no gui - to get rid of the 'painful' sound try to deactivate MusicFX in system apps and then test with other eq apps.

razorbill hmm, I know Tidal is one of few apps (along with UAPP) that bypasses the android system mixer over USB. If you are using a dongle maybe that's why. If it's Bluetooth then that's strange. Does wavelet not report detecting audio from those apps?

Maybe in the end your best bet for a consistent equalizer is a dac like qudelix depending on how you are connecting to the phone
