workaround for X (twitter) app

Hi everyone,
I’m running GrapheneOS and trying to log into X app, but I keep getting an “LoginError.AttestationDenied” error during the login/verification step. From what I understand, this usually happens when the app requires Google Play Integrity or some form of hardware attestation that GrapheneOS doesn’t satisfy.

I’m using Sandboxed Google Play, everything is up-to-date, and the device isn’t rooted or modified beyond the standard GrapheneOS setup.

Is there any workaround, fix, recommended configuration or alternatove app to make this kind of login work?

Or is the app simply incompatible with GrapheneOS due to strict attestation checks?

For now as workaround I am using PWA what works correctly, but I am curious about app.

Any advice or experience would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

b1ck_r0s3 I did a quick search in the chat rooms, and found a conversation where it was stated that the X app now uses an integrity check when you try to sign in with a username and password, but that signing in with either a passkey or with the Google sign-in option is known to work on GrapheneOS.

fid03 so,signing with G credentials are not posing a possibility of a dual way trust link or some sort of two-ways sync between the two of them platforms ?? What is agreed or exchanged between them ?

user2025 you create an identifiable link between both accounts.

By default X will get:

After you have signed in a user with Google using the default scopes, you can access the user's Google ID, name, profile URL, and email address.

The more private independent option would be to use passkeys.

For twitter I use vanadium and installed x.com as a PWA. Works pretty well.

spl4tt yes for me too . . I changed my email to gmail and then login with google auth . . and it works pretty well in official X app (not pwa, but from store)
