Hotspot gateway not working

After this recent update to a pixel 7, the hotspot functionality is not working, devices make a link meaning they are connected to the network, but the gateway must be broken, nothing can reach the internet. Idk what to do D:

PartyParrot are you running a VPN on the device connecting to your hotspot? Does your carrier by default provide hotspot use or do they usually try and block it/charge for it?

Double check your APN settings too and may reset them SETTINGS>SYSTEM>RESET OPTIONS.

Im using a VPN on the phone yea, Carrier allows hotspotting, Ill check reset options and apn tho and keep troubleshooting

PartyParrot I meant on the device you connect to the phone regards using a VPN, just to remind you hotspot traffic isn't routed via the phone VPN.

I am also connected to a VPN on the device yea, i reset mobile network settings and rebooted phone but isnt working yet, im just so confused as the what caused this, hotspot was always great, but not working anymore :/

PartyParrot if you're using wireguard try changing or using an obfuscation method to see if this works as something may have changed with your carrier. I had issues with IVPN on my laptop getting internet. Mullvad worked, and PIA did that a friend gave me access too. Yes I told them to use something different but they weren't going to until their sub ended.

The vpn on the pixel is fine, its the hotspot that it makes that no device can get through to the public internet, on the hotspot. :/

PartyParrot yes, you said the device connecting to your phone has a VPN too, change it's VPN settings not the phone one, the phone one is irrelevant to hotspot traffic.

I understand that it just nats to your default gateway and not the phones vpn. Its that on, any laptop etc with a vpn or without a vpn connection, can connect to the lan, but not reach the public internet, i understand this could very well be a personal config thing but im conviced that the recent update has caused this pixel 7s hotspots ability to route through the gateway, to go kapoot.

PartyParrot definitely not the update I use hotspot ALL the time, 8 hours a day and have done since I started using GrapheneOS. I still have it up as I am writing this to you. No config changes happened to GrapheneOS to change this. We'd also see other people in here with the same issue.

The sim/carrier/hotspot gateway works when broadcasting a hotspot on a s22, but no longer the pixel. Leading me to suspect it is defiantly the pixel 7 and not the carrier or sim
