[Pixel 8a] QPR1 update broke Charging Optimization

Since the latest QPR1 update yesterday, my phone no longer stops charging at 80%. It shows "Done Charging" at Lock Screen but continue to charge till 100%. I initially thought it's the occasional full charge cycle done for re-calibration, but it's reproducible every single time, since the last update.

Anyone else notice this?

bitestring it works fine for me. When I woke up this morning the battery recalibrated to 100% and showed the Shield. It's now at 80% with shield plugged in at my desk.

I'm on .. 2501 latest and thought I think something like that has happened to me once in previous 2500 (maybe a reboot was required), but I no longer observe it on couple of phones

It hasn't worked for me since few months even before the QPR1. Almost always at 100% in the morning.

It works after keeping the phone charged at 100% for long time and then restarting. Now the shield icon comes up. Sorry for the false alarm.

em, will check another thing - it may be 80% works in owner profile, but not in non-owner, will double check as I don't want to recharge frequently

all good, it works for me in both, so probably it was recalibration logic

What I observe is, each time I restart my device, the battery first charges to 100% before the Charging Optimization feature activates. After the optimization kicks in, the charging behaves as expected, but a subsequent restart repeats the cycle—charging to 100% again before the optimization resumes. Maybe this is a new update in the Charging Optimization logic.
