lz00 Hi, I have to switch from proton calendar to google calendar and am wondering if there are any measures that make google calendar less intrusive to privacy?
Grapi lz00 There is either privacy or google. If you take care of your privacy use a calendar app with local backups, or a calendar app with a sync with your own cloud (for example Nextcloud).
MetropleX lz00 why do you need to move away from proton to google calendar? Is it not possible to use both and ensure you only use gcal for the reason you need to move? If it is work or collaborative reasons then just use it for that. Keeping your non work/collab agendas on more private services?
Probably9857 lz00 It is possible to share a Google calendar so it is visible in Proton (read-only). Depending on your use case, this might make it more convenient to use both.
gan816 I sync my google calendars with DAVx5 and use Etar for the calendar and Todo Agenda for the widget, I suppose not having google's calendar app installed can make it less intrusive.
faxe Probably9857 I also have a shared calendar shown in proton calendar and google calendar app installed in a separate profile to create and modify entries
23Sha-ger PRIVACY with Google calendar. Sounds like 2 opposite things to me. You will make Google aware of anything that is on your calendar. I'm sure of it.
