PWAs vs Web Apps

One can "install" a PWA whereas one can "create a shortcut" for a web app which opens up in a browser.

What are the differences between them in terms of privacy and security?

For example,
Uber has the choice between installing a PWA or creating a shortcut.

privacy and security–wise I believe there's no difference since it's not webview, but regular browser session, i.e. proper isolation

every site can be shortcuted and when you tap this shortcut it will be opened in default browser session with topbar, and if you enabled option to open external links in private tab your authorisation won't persist, you'll need to re-login everytime you use shortcut.

install PWA is possible only if it's implemented on the sites side, and it will be opened without top bar. cookies and cache depend on default browser but session will (I think so) persist even if external links in private tab enabled
