Request: App-level biometric lock

Hi,

I love GrapheneOS and its focus on security. I’d like to request a biometric lock for individual apps. Currently, only device-level lock is available, and app-level biometric protection would add extra privacy and control.

Chris_04 there are third party apps that can be revoked internet access that can provide this functionality. Use forum search option.

DeletedUser495 I already tried, but the app asks for certain permissions that the system doesn’t allow, so I had to uninstall it. Besides, I didn’t want to keep seeing that icon on my screen 🙃😂

I requested this at least once before. This is probably my most desired feature. There are several apps that contain personal information, or link to webpages that contain my personal information. Spotify is an example. There needs to be a security mitigation that recognizes the situation where your phone is accessed by someone while it is unlocked.

The private space since Android 15 makes this almost redundant. You can lock the space with pin/fingerprint and even
hide the private space in the settings, so that a person who got
your phone won't even see that app. Unless they are GOS users.
As a bonus, apps in the space can't communicate with owner.

23Sha-ger Sorry, but I’m not sure if it’s me not knowing how to use it or if it’s just how the feature works, but I think that option Google added is pointless. All it does is duplicate the app and send it to a “private” space, and that’s it — the original app is still visible and its data can still be accessed.
