Pixel 9 vs Pixel 10 Security

Disclaimer: I understand that GOS has not yet been released for the Pixel 10 series.

I'm trying to decide between the Pixel 9 and Pixel 10 for objective or straight up security. Specifically looking at potential supply chain attacks against Pixel 10 hardware and potential for there to be major bugs upon GOS release for the Pixel 10.

Please note that I do not need GrapheneOS immediately, so I have no problem waiting for Pixel 10 support. I'm merely interested in the differences in security or any concerns between the two phones, and which would be better to get for such purpose.

PS: My major concerns are security and privacy based. Thank you very much.

I've heard that the Pixel 10 will have improved virtualization security and performance. It may also have stingray protections. The Pixel 9 will still be a solid option.

As for supply chain attacks, verified boot and Auditor may be able to help.

The developers mentioned some improvements in these areas in the Pixel 10, but I don't think they provided any specifics. I think it's best to wait until they fully implement support for the Pixel 10, and then you can expect more detailed explanations on the questions you're asking.

Both options are good, it's the OS that makes most of the difference and heavy lifting.
Supply chain attacks against giants like Apple, Google are highly unlikely. This is not some
small unknown Chinese OEM we are talking about.

Probably not. Maybe we'll know more when Grapheneos launches for the 10.
