Vomitorius For Android: 5.14.65.0, installed through Aurora. On iPhone: Version 6.6.4.
On iPhone, if I have the VPN connected when I hit "Update", the VPN does not disconnect, but internet stops working. Once the update starts (download in progress--with internet not working), I am also not able to open the ProtonVPN app (I am able to if I cancel the update, but then clicking Connect or Disconnect results in errors popping up). So: VPN is connected but does not send/receive traffic, kill switch is on--blocking all traffic outside the VPN, and I am not able to use the ProtonVPN app without error pop-ups. The only way I have found to get the internet working again is to restart my phone. After restart, the VPN app still needs to be updated, so this needs to be done with the VPN turned off--leaking all my traffic while it updates. Again, if I leave the VPN on while updating, I will loop back right to the beginning with the internet cutting out and me needing to restart the phone again.
On Graphene, the process is similar, but the app is successfully updated BEFORE the internet cuts out. So, once I perform a restart, the phone restarts with ProtonVPN having been updated and I can proceed to use it as normal.
