FWIW I've never had any problems with the inexpensive Anker and Belkin chargers I use. I do find that I have to position the handset quite carefully, for it to charge properly. I've never had one burst a battery.

I believe newer chargers and newer handsets support faster wireless charging, and I can see how that might stress the battery a bit more.

it is slower than cable.
also it heats the battery more during the charging.
also it requires accurate positioning on a charging pad, since pixel units have no magnets for simplifying it (almost all android devices have not).
and it actually impossibles using the device during charging.
also for best results device must be as close as possible to charger, so thick case might interfere with it.

as for me, too many restrictions with too little gain.

I got a case specifically to solve this, also allows for other magsafe related products (popsockets...uh, phone wallets?)

It just adds a metal ring around the back, and since its specifically for wireless charging I imagine the case doesn't interfere too much.

Wireless charging is important to me since I am worried about the port wearing down over time, especially since I connect it on and off every day due to using cabled android auto.

raccoondad yup, could be useful for some situations.
however, i’m not sure, if it won’t kill the battery much sooner than something bad could happen with the charging port, if using only wireless charging during the daily use.
