Hey all,

Been using Graphene OS since my Pixel 6 Pro, now on a Pixel 7 Pro since launch. It's been smooth sailing, but recently I noticed specific apps are locked out of sending notifications, and I can't enable them no matter what I try. Most urgently, I want notifications to be enabled for my banking app, Navy Federal Credit Union.

When I go to the app and bring up the notification settings, it's set to off, and locked so I can't interact with it. Below it, there's text reading "At your request, Android is blocking this app's notifications from appearing on this device.".

I've tried:

  • Clearing Storage and Cache
  • Reinstalling the App
  • Rebooting
  • Ensuring it has all permissions turned on
  • Granting all permissions to Google Play Store, Play Services, etc

No matter what menu I go to, or what fix I try, it just will not let me enable notifications. Am I missing something?

Thank you!

Hey there, thank you for the response!

Sadly none of those solutions work for me, I have tried to enable the app in the Do Not Disturb allow list, it lets me toggle it, but then when I back out of the Do Not Disturb menu it shuts it off again and won't add it to the list of apps that can interrupt Do not Disturb.

For the second one, no matter how I open the app details (either directly from the app, or going to Apps -> Navy Federal), the toggle to turn on notifications is locked and there is no 'settings' or other options to explore. :(

im having the same problem on my pixel 6. its weird because this app is the one that i specifically ALLOW notifications because i use push notifications for it.
from what i saw in this thread: https://www.reddit.com/r/Pixel6/comments/wsmn5y/anyone_else_having_notification_issues_at_your/
it looks like the problem started with this latest update for other users and other apps.

i love all the other threads that are like "just go to apps and permissions and hit the button to allow notifications!!" like telling someone if they cant do any pushups to just do some pushups.

Per reviews on Play Store, this issue was a regression stemming from a recent update that affected all Android users. It's since been fixed.
