Kia Connect (the new app) do not work

Good morning.
Could someone please tell me how to disable secure application generation? I can't find it in the Graphene OS menus.
Build number: 2025120401.

Out of curiosity, why do you need an app for a car? I have gone out of my way to disable the onboard cellular modem, and the last thing I would do is provide an alternative way to the manufacturer to exfiltrate telemetry.

tux_ The privacy implications of car telematics are real, but there are some spectacular conveniences. Just an example: my wife's Taycan (EV) allows you to use the app to start climate control from anywhere. Because the car itself has a cell modem, as long as it's somewhere covered by whatever carrier they use (I think it's AT&T), then you can use the app to heat/cool the car before you get in it. It's one of my very favorite features of the car; I'd be quite sad if we couldn't do that anymore.

starglider No "convenience" is more valuable than my freedom, so I refuse gimmicks that serve as an excuse for companies to spy on their customers. If I have to do without feature X, so be it.

tux_ That's fine and a reasonable choice. I was just answering your question of why someone might want to use an app for their car. They have utility, even if you personally find the tradeoff unacceptable.

Happy New Year all.

Can confirm this works on p7pro and p8pro for app v.1.0.18 as of today.

In the main/owner profile: Settings > Security & privacy > Exploit protection > Secure app spawning ["SAS" below] => Disable => launch Kia once (in 2nd profile where I have Google Play )=> Enable SAS again => Kia still works.

I had Kia .17 on my p7pro, updated it to .18 and got the error/warning. Did the SAS cycle, and now it still works. So until next app version update I expect; then just repeat this cycle.

Same on a p8pro.

GoSh Did you get the app notification about the app dropping certain Android versions in the next update?

Can confirm app not working on Pixel6a running 2025122500. App downloaded from Aurora. Also tried with GPS enabled with Network and location access.
Kia support in Denmark basically told me to go f*** my self.

Sigh.... Keep fighting the good fight.

As you can read in my post, I also have GPS (Google Play Services) active - even with network. I have tried with and without Secure Spawning and also running the app in Compability mode. I don't have developer mode enabled.
Still, I cannot get it to work.
Im happy for you that you can get it to work. However, there is something else you have done, that you're telling here, since the rest of us cannot make it work. Im sure the rest of the community would appreciate any more hints you can give.

Roede GPS stands for Global Positioning System, not Google Play services. I've not made any changes I've not already posted. I'm using a Google Pixel 10 Pro XL phone.

Right, ok😆 I read that GPS is also short for Google Play Services, but sorry for the confusion.
Anyhow - you must have a magic phone, or the rest of us have done some weird change to brake compability I guess....
I fail to see what Ive done since its not running fine on my device. What app version (kia) are you using - newest?

Roede There are several other people in the thread who have got it working on various phones.

Installed version 1.0.10(48) from APK pure and this version is working. G Play S active with network on first startup. Active but no network on 2nd startup and still works.

On first start it prompts to update, but I could choose "later". Previous versions required update in order to start.

Yes I see solutions based on disabling secure spawning, but that have not helped me - might have got the combination between secure app spawning and compability mode wrong. I will tinker when I'm forced to update next time..
