I have another 9a I could check but though I don't remember clearly, this didn't seem to be an issue on stock OS. Whenever the device is shut down for long amounts of time (more than an hour) the time slowly becomes off from the actual time. I do have auto time zone and always on VPN (Proton through the Wireguard app). I have not yet tried this without the always on VPN as I really like having it. The only way to get the time right is to turn off automatic time, tap the correct time zone again, and turn automatic time back on. Another issue is that with DNS set to automatic, the automatic update checks will often fail. I was using Quad9 before, but with that on I don't have any internet for a good 15-20 seconds after startup. Are there any ways to fix these issues?
