Custom DPI/PPI settings

Hello!

I am able to set my desired screen pixel density by modifying the property "smallest width" on Developer Options when running as the user Owner. However, these settings do not propagate to any other user. I tested and replicated this behavior on multiple GrapheneOS devices. This could be an Android related issue but GrapheneOS users are more likely to be impacted given how user separation is more common for us.

I assume I could use the app SecondScreen to achieve the intended behavior, however, it requires ADB elevated privileges so I would preffer not to.

How can I work around this?

Many items on the Developer Options screen are there -- instead of being regular settings -- because Google believes they are not stable and reliable enough to be regular settings. It is possible that eventually Google will ship a "smallest width" setting in the regular OS, but until they do that it is not likely that the GrapheneOS team will make adjustments to that code. The team typically focuses effort on security and privacy features rather than UI adjustments that do not affect security and privacy.
