German AusweisApp v2.4.0 and GOS

So there is a new version of the German AusweisApp out (v2.4.0) and this one refuses to update on my GOS Pixel 9a with Sandboxed Play Store installed - I just get this oh-so-very-helpful "this app failed to install, do you want to try again" message box.

So, is this just me or is this another one of these "let's promote Digital Souvereignty by making our eID dependant on US spyware" super brain moves by my government?

Taijian Oh, I get that error message fairly often (with various apps) in Google Play, I just tap install once more and it works.

If it REALLY doesn't (because dev is misinformed/naive like the one of ProShot and 'blocked' installation for the devices not passing either Google Play certification or strong integrity), then it doesn't, but 99% of the times just retrying is enough.

You could try installing the app through FDroid, maybe this works

I installed it just now without any problems. Pixel 9 with newest stable GOS.

I started it and the setup dialogue was shown. Can't do more testing, because I need a new ID card to use it (still got the old one without that functionality).
