While the 7 years of support is strongly suggestive that Motorola could be the OEM, this is certainly not the device that will support GrapheneOS. That device will not be available until 2027.

Probably9857 Yeah, it is even uses the Snapdragon 8 gen 5 chip not the elite which has MTE. GrapheneOS said in tweet https://xcancel.com/GrapheneOS/status/2007412904598151669#m that the OEM couldn't meet all of hardware requirements in 2026 (which seems like this one from Motorola is), so next year 2027 they will likely support all GrapheneOS hardware requirements.

I hope it won't be a $1000 phone, or at least that support for Google's midrange like the current 9a isn't dropped. I have no use for a very expensive phone with half a dozen cameras at the back. I regard a "smart" phone as an appliance that gets used when a real computer isn't available, not as my main computer.

gogocs The Pixel 9a was on sale for less than $350 last December, it's back to $399 now but I doubt the "GOS Phone" will be less than that at release...

They have improved somewhat over the years in that regard but still not 7 years like the Pixel and Samsung devices. It varies on the model but some of the flagship Motorolas now get 4 or 5 OS updates and I think, 5 years of security patches.

The Motorola Signature (2026) is definitely not the phone that will support GrapheneOS. GrapheneOS have already stated that the Flagship phone will be running the Elite variant of the Snapdragon SOC. They also confirmed that the likely launch of the phone will be in 2027 due to the 2026 phone that is launching not being able to use the Elite variant, which is the case with this recently released Motorola Signature. The Motorola Signature (2027) is the most likely option as the device that will support GrapheneOS. I assume Motorola rebranded as a fresh start and to have their flagship stand out more than their other phones. This new branding was also a good way to announce the 7 year update commitment which Motorola had never done before and they were notorious for poor upgrade cycles. I have already seen people praising Motorola for committing to 7 years of device updates and i'm sure a lot more people will be happy as I saw numerous complaints befote about Motorola's upgrade cycle. Seems like the GrapheneOS partnership is good news for Motorola.

If it's Motorola, then I hope we'll also see a GrapheneOS supported tablet in 2027 alongside the phone. (I know that it's not going to happen and sounds impossible but since Lenovo is the parent company, I wish to see GrapheneOS support on future Legion Tab Y700 models. I love the screen ratio of that device and they also come with the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset but unfortunately they didn't launch the recent Gen 4 globally.)

Exactly, now there's more choice. Let's not be fanboys of big tech companies, but fans of great products. When it's time for me to upgrade, I will get whatever is best for me (price-, performance- and support-wise). The logo on the back of the phone really doesn't matter, and I hope to see even more options and brands in the future meeting the GOS standards.

Personally I would be very happy if they were able to use latest Samsung flagmans as the base. I really like their Z Fold 7 and Tri Fold, for example. But I understand that is extremely unlikely to ever happen, because one can't even unlock boot loader on these phones anymore (not to mention, bare AOSP likely won't work on these devices - they require their own proprietary drivers that are probably deeply integrated with their Samsung UI proprietary system, and they would never share any of that with Graphene). But hardware wise from the user experience standpoint this would be a great choice.
