ospfranco Hi! I'm trying graphene OS on a secondary device of mine. It mostly just works which is great. However I'm hitting a problem with WhatsApp. My main device is an iPhone and I want to link the Graphene version to it. Linking works and I can see the messages on both devices but after a while the messages stop syncing to the iOS device and then the grapheneOS version just unlinks itself. I've tried relaxing the OS restrictions in the app settings but it still ends up unlinking itself. I guess whatsapp does an integrity check on the device itself. Is this an known issue? Can something be done about it?

It might be helpful to read Whatsapp's documentation on Linked Devices and how they work :) https://faq.whatsapp.com/378279804439436/?helpref=uf_share https://faq.whatsapp.com/653480766448040/?helpref=uf_share Note: Your phone doesn’t need to stay online to use WhatsApp on linked devices, but your linked devices will be logged out if you don’t use your phone for over 14 days.
ElliesSurviving its a whatsapp security measure i believe on any device, it automatically unlinks linked devices after a while and requires relinking, this isnt a GrapheneOS issue
Byku I've once stumbled into this: https://docs.mau.fi/bridges/go/whatsapp/android-vm-setup.html It describes how to run WA in a virtual android machine. Might be useful if you don't want to open WA once every 14 days but you'd need your own server for this.
