I want to connect a bluetooth Plantronics earphone with the Pixel 8 but the Pixel don't find it. What can I do?

In order for the Pixel 8 to connect to the Plantronics device, it may well be necessary to put the Plantronics device into pairing mode as DeletedUser495 indicated. Has that been tried?

Normally the device connect the smartphone automatically. It works without a problem with an older Pixel 7 with Android OS. On this phone the earphone device is listed in the bluetooth app menu. But the Pixel 8 does not see the device, it is not listed.
