Hi Everybody, i'm facing an issue with my Pixel 7 Pro and i found it reported here in many threads.
Somebody refers at it saying that "Screen won't turn off when held up to face during phone call", others reporting issues with proximity sensor, or accidental opening unwanted calls, or lighting up the flashlight while talking, "clicking" with the ear.
All of this happened also to me. I tried to switch the default phone app with the Fossify one, but it didn't helped in my case. I verified the proximity sensor functionality with Sensors and DevCheck app, and it appears to be ok.
I happened to notice that the real issue for me is that the area of the camera cutout, where are battery and network indicators, clock and notification icons. Tapping on this area, the Quick Settings panel comes down as it happens with the drag down gesture. In other Android UI this is not true, tapping in that area doesn't trigger any action and i think this prevents many of the "proximity sensor" issue.
Is there a setting or app to make that area not active to the tap, or to prevent the accidental opening of the Quick Settings panel with ear taps?
Many thanks!
