Marvin You can use an app to provide triggers for wiping the device. We recommend using a secure lock method instead of depending on wiping the device which you often wouldn't be able to do. A random 6 digit PIN is secure based on secure element throttling. A random 6-8 diceware word passphrase is secure even if the secure element is exploited. You can use the combination of a strong passphrase with 2-factor fingerprint+PIN unlock with a random 4-6 PIN for both encryption not depending on hardware security and convenience. There are only 5 attempts for fingerprint unlock and 2nd factor PIN failures count towards that, so even a random 4 digit PIN is fine for use with 2-factor unlock.
