9a alarms dropping or changing sound

I use alarms a lot of times per day for meds, same set of alarms (repeat 7-days) every day + vibrate. I only use 2 different ring-tones (Argon and Carbon) with them all.

Lately (past 2-weeks) it randomly uses the default "bing-bong" (not what I have set) or no sound at all.

If it wasn't for the vibrate I'd miss several alarms per day. I have had to go back to the old Pixel-4 for the reliability and carrying 2 phones everywhere sucks.

Thoughts on fixing this on the 9a?

Is it possible that this is happening after the system has automatically rebooted? Is the automatic-reboot time set to a low value, or is System Updater authorized to reboot the device when a new release has been downloaded?

Thanks for the reply, reboot was set at the stock 18-hours so I changed it to 72 and it is still occasionally (this morning) deciding what noise to make.

Yes, I will disable it and see. But with the auto-reboot set at 72-hours it has not misbehaved since Monday AM. Not sure when those 72 hours are up though.

The 72 hours until auto-reboot counts from the last time you successfully unlocked your phone (using your passcode, biometric or whatever method you used). Therefore it will only auto-reboot if you did not use you phone for the past 3 days - not counting alarms which work, and can be cancelled with the phone in a locked state. Each time you successfully unlock your phone, the 72 hour timer resets to zero

Ahh, OK, thanks. So far still getting the correct tones and the 72-recount will work fine. I will have to set the updates to auto-reboot I guess.

Surely this is a bug that needs fixing. I tested this in my old 4a and it too often missed alarms, played incorrect tones or only vibrated. Seems a long time to do nothing about it.

I think that because of the encryption of all phone data in the BFU state (after the device reboots), there are no options available to OS except for the basic tone alarm. To ask for more is to require more unencrypted data available which I think will not be happening.
