Let's assume the Android 16 QPR1 AOSP update has already been released and GrapheneOS is available for the 10 series:

If I understand correctly, the biggest differences (apart from the processor and other smaller things) are the exclusive AI features in the new 10 series compared to the 9 series. But as far as I understand those features will probably not be available on GrapheneOS. So does the premium for the 10 series even make sense if you want to install GrapheneOS anyway and can't use those AI features? Because the Tensor G5 doesn't really seem like a sufficient selling point to me 😅

Or am I misunderstanding something here regarding GrapheneOS? I've never used a Pixel or GrapheneOS, so sorry for the question :)

I believe your assessment is spot on.
AI is not essential to running the phone so GrapheneOS will probably run it but won't make it part of the GrapheneOS download. That's what GrapheneOS allows, user choice.
The Tensor chip is no selling point either..
What is way more important is the battery. Pixels have an awful reputation with poor batteries, and I don't expect the 10 series to be any different.
I have a P6a and it works as expected, its just luck nothing else. I am holding out for GrapheneOS and the collaboration with an OEM, I am done with Pixels, they are all smoke and mirrors, filled with garbage.

Thanks, I’m aware of that table, but it still doesn’t clarify how GrapheneOS supports AI‑features, which, as I understand it, are the major selling point of the new 10 series.

Like what has been GrapheneOS’s past track record with AI‑capabilities (e.g., on previous Pixel devices)? And is it feasible that GrapheneOS could integrate the upcoming AI features of the 10‑series?

vk32faqt12 many of the AI features are part of the AI-core app, which isn't pre-installed on GOS. However, you could install it yourself and get access to most of those features. It remains to be seen whether the new features will work the same way or not. GOS will almost certainly put no effort into supporting it if it doesn't work out of the box.
