Help breathing new life into old hardware

Found an old Acer Tab 1B-730HD that still runs and instead of tossing it I'd like to give it a purpose. Unfortunately almost every link for the official firmware/tools is either completely gone or sketchy asf.

I'm kinda stumped here, I honestly would like to debloat it and only have bare minimum functions so that I can plug in (or BT) a mini keyboard and run a terminal emulator to learn CDI and Bash on.

Does anyone have experience or tips?

ctOS do you have a windows computer? Windows Subsystem for Linux is a great way to learn.

For the tab, theoretically it's fine to use so long as it never connects to the internet along with having radios disabled, etc. etc. As someone who **really* dislikes e-waste, I appreciate the desire to reuse it, but your options are unfortunately limited if you care at all about security.

You can probably put Lineage OS or Sailfish OS (v4.xx) on that tab if the bootloader can be unlocked. I've got an old Lenovo Thinkpad 8 tab that came with Win8 originally and it's running Lineage 14 nicely. I just use it for playing videos and occasional web browsing and nothing else. Also had Sailfish OS and it ran very well but no sound. My tab also has an Atom processor similar to yours.

brookie229 i saw some mentions if lineageOS 17.1 being compatible, but all links on this topic are dead. I having being going down the rabbit hole of ADB, ROOTING, and trying to find other alternatives because I don't have experience with this stuff but man its a complete nightmare.

Really my goal would be to only have Obtainium and something like termux and use it for like a lightweight learning device.
