custardbomb I'd recommend Linux Mint for beginners as its quite similar to windows. To get an in depth look at installing it I'd recommend asking on the Mint forum/ watching videos, but here's the basics of installing it (its actually super easy. Being my first Linux install, it only took about 30 mins to install).
Download the Linux Mint mirror APK for your country from the website
https://linuxmint.com/
Download Belena Etcher on to your computer
https://etcher.balena.io/
Get a fully formatted USB flash drive with at least 8GB of storage. Put it in the computer. Open Belena Etcher and select the Linux mint file you downloaded, then your USB, then click Flash! And wait.
Once its been flashed, remove the stick. Note that by installing Linux you will erase everything off of the computer! photos, videos, important files, back it all up because it will be gone if you don't!
Power off the computer. Plug in the flash drive. Power on the computer while holding down the F2 key. When it turns on, you will be presented with a scary looking menu. Don't panic, just find your USB drive and follow the directions to move it to the top of the list so the computer boots from it. After that's done exit the menu by pressing F10.
Linux should now boot, presenting you with a list. Select the 'start live session' option. It should be the first one. Hit enter to start.
Linux will now boot into a live session so you can explore. Click on the Install button at the top left and follow directions to install
Thats pretty much it, its honestly not that hard and I really enjoy Linux. :)
