Hey, friends.

Looks like I can't find any answers for this error on downloading release step:
"Error: storage quota has been exceeded, you might not have enough space on your drive, or you're using incognito mode."

I'm using high quality cable, up-to-date Windows 11 and Chrome (not incognito mode) and Pixel 8 Pro.
Bootloader unclocked successfully, so driver should be good.

Any ideas?

As per the prerequisites:

You need a computer for running the web installer with at least 2GB of free memory available and 32GB of free storage space.

May you please confirm that you do have at least 32GB of free storage and enough free memory to meet these requirements? Also, are you using a desktop or laptop? If desktop, are you plugging the USB cable directly in the motherboard (back ports)?

You should avoid using a USB hub such as the front panel on a desktop computer case. Connect directly to a rear port on a desktop or the ports on a laptop.

Which brand of cable are you using? Do you have the stock usb cable that came with the device?

Additionally, just to confirm, what driver is listed in your systems Device Manager for the device?

Sorry for the long post, but here’s what I’ve figured out.

I tried the stock cables, plus several high-quality data cables. My Windows installation is up to date, I went through multiple driver versions as per the instructions, and I had over 300 GB of free space on my SSD. I’m pretty confident I did everything right, so I sat down and thought about what else could be causing the issue.

Then I had an idea.
My laptop has two SSDs — Windows & Linux in a dual-boot setup.
I started wondering if that might be related. So I grabbed a random cable I had lying around, plugged it into my wife’s laptop, installed the driver, and it worked instantly — no issues at all.

No clue if that’s just coincidence or if my dual-SSD setup is actually the cause, but I figured I’d share this here in case it helps someone else avoid the same headache. Maybe someone with more experience can confirm or debunk it.

pipus It's the location of your browser profile that's used, because the installer files are downloaded into your browser cache. You could get this problem if you were sharing your browser profile directory between Linux and Windows, and the volume it is on doesn't have sufficient space.

Also you get the problem if using Incognito Mode as that has limited profile storage.

It is entirely possible (though I have no idea how likely) that it tried to use the Linux drive for some reason. Since windows doesn't work with any Linux drive formats if it did try to use the drive it wouldn't be able to.
