Transfer of hundreds of notes. Or recommendation

I use color note notepad app for my notes and I have hundreds of them with up to 200000 characters on each. Nothing is very private. Just notes

I was going to email each individual note to myself and then copy paste each of them in new phone. Easier way lol?

Also, is there a very secure notepad that's not privacy invasive? Currently use color note which has always had great ratings and says it doesn't know much but not sure how private it really is. If theres a better one, I may as well switch while I'm at square one again :)

2days it seems that ColorNote provides online sync and local backup feature in its settings, so use one of those. Restoring offline backup would be a bit cumbersome on another device since app stores note backup in Android folder, but doable. I suggest you sign in, that should help you sync the notes with ease. Let us know how you got on.

Now I know why I've never taken notice of it. It appears you can only sign up/log in using Google :(

Two note-taking apps I'm fond of:

Joplin is fully open-source and has a nice interface. the notes are in Markdown. I was using it for awhile and changed when I wanted to easily publish to the web.

Obsidian.md is not open-source for the core, but the community plugins are. It's also well-regarded and the notes are in Markdown. I switched to it in order to be able to easily publish a subset of my notes online.

I don't know anything about color notes, so I don't know what the process would be to transfer them. Sorry.

lol that app still exists?? I used to use this back in the HTC HD2 times. Damn.
If you don't want to use the google backup, I'm sure there's a local backup as well

I highly recommend Markor. I've used it for many years as my daily markdown/notes editor. It's open source and works great with Syncthing for self-hosted cloud-like syncing. It's probably the closest thing you can get to Obsidian.md in the FOSS world.

Notesnook is another option that is brought up frequently here. Has a pretty modern UI too and is E2EE.

If you're gonna move from Color Notes to something else then I would recommend Joplin. I like Joplin because I can use it on my phone or computer and sync between them using syncthing.

mar2112 I tried to move to Notion. It's absolutely amazing and it became my main note-taking app. However I noticed I still use Color Notes for a quick ones so mission failed successfully :)
