Byku The default AOSP app has a setting where you can turn off automatic MMS download. Few people here recommended QUIK for SMS but it is lacking this particular functionality (it's been requested but the app is not updated since March 2025). Any other recommendations? Does Fossify Messages or Right Messages have such setting?
andrej567 after trying numerous apps for SMS I gave up, there was minor or major trouble with every app i tried, I went back to default. I send 10 sms a year. most of the sms I recieve.. All communication goes thru signal or whatsapp anyway
23Sha-ger MMS in 2025? :) I'm almost sure people born after 2000 have no idea what this means, and the older ones forgot that it ever existed.
Nobody This is right up there with text only email clients. There are still some and they can have there place for certain security needs. I would just search for a sns only client.
mmobder Oggyo that's what my experience with incoming notifications from several delivery agencies. I've also noticed it with messages that were shorter but contained unicode characters.
Oggyo mmobder I've also noticed it with messages that were shorter but contained unicode characters. With Unicode characters may be expected as SMS stands for Simple Message System
mmobder Oggyo I'm not sure what's your stake here, while I'm answering another person statement re MMS in 2025. Do you have anything to contribute?
