I recently got a used Pixel 8a. It appears to still be carrier locked. The Unlock option is grayed out and says "Unavailable on carrier-locked devices."
T Mobile says you can unlock a phone by downloading the official T-Mobile Device Unlock (Pixel) app from the Play store, but when I open it and tap Check Eligibility, it keeps saying there are server issues, even though I'm connected to the internet.
I tried doing the T Mobile app but it requires a cell phone registered with T Mobile, which I don't have (I got this phone to use with Mint Mobile).
Is there another way to unlock this phone beyond calling T Mobile and asking them to unlock it? It's impossible to get hold of an actual human on these automated phone trees.
