Privatedns in secondary profile

I am using nextdns server for my private dns. I am using the same filters as my friend he is not receiving any ads in the ott app in his Nothing mobile while i am using the same ott in my pixel 6a in a secondary profile i am receiving ads. does the private dns does not work for secondary profile or is it a bug?

Are you using vpn? I think there is a recommendation not to combine vpn with system's custom dns setting in owner profile.
One can use apps like RethinkDNS to set profile dns and vpn simultaneously (though one is required to check git open issues just like with any app)

mmobder yes i am using mullvad on main profile dddg tracker vpn on the secondary profile

If you're using a VPN, we recommended against having a Private DNS server configured. If you want to filter traffic while using a VPN, use a VPN service app able to do both such as RethinkDNS. Private DNS also interacts strangely with multiple profiles since each profile has their own VPN configuration but Private DNS is global. We strongly recommend fully disabling Private DNS when using a VPN on any secondary profile until it's overhauled.
