Accessing Bitwarden Thru Keyboard

Hey, at a bit of a loss how to title this, hopefully the chosen title is transparent.

So I've been using GrapheneOS for over a month and I have been going to my bank's website to manage my funds on the go, and this is the annoying, (hehe) inconvenient part, every time I wanna enter my password using Bitwarden I have to go to the app, search up my bank then copy the password. First world problems, amirite? Any way, how come the Bitwarden icon doesn't pop up in my keyboard (which is currently the FUTO keyboard, not sure if that matters, I have also checked the settings for the FUTO keyboard and haven't noticed anything about integration of other apps). So is there a way to make Bitwarden accessible thru keyboard or is that just not a thing in GrapheneOS? :(

JB11 If you go to Bitwarden's settings>autofill>Display autofill suggestions and select pop-up. To bypass the keyboard problem

If you are using Brave it needs bitwarden set specifically in its settings.

Brave -> Settings -> Autofill Services -> Autofill using another service -> Bitwarden

Quantum Hmm, I have gone to the settings page under autofill and there is no Display autofil suggestions option. Also every check that can be checked in autofill is checked.

I fiddled around for a few minutes and the only way I seem to be able to get Bitwarden to autofill details is by going into the quick tile area and pressing on the Bitwarden autofill tile which takes me to the Bitwarden app where the applicable password is. Not ideal.

JB11 Just to check, if you go into your phone's settings>passwords, passkeys and accounts>is bitwarden checked there?

Quantum The preferred service is in fact Bitwarden with a change button.

Maybe check to see your bitwarden app is up to date?

Quantum So I've been fiddling around for several minutes at this point and here's what I've discovered although I don't really get the "why" behind it.

I got myself Firefox to see how that works with my bank website and although the keyboard doesn't show Bitwarden instantly, if I press the card field and then the password field, in the password field makes the Bitwarden prompt show up, just not the card field for some reason. So I guess since it really doesn't matter to me, I could use Firefox for my banking.

I cannot reproduce the above with Brave with the things I've tried. Unblocking fingerprinting doesn't help, allowing more ads to be displayed doesn't help (I have shields on aggressive always unless something breaks), and lastly I tried to allow more cookies to be used (third party cookies). So far nothing has worked to make Bitwarden pop up in the keyboard while using Brave.

Any way, like I said, Firefox appears to be working with my bank, but thanks for your time and effort. :) I wish I knew/understood why Brave won't work with my bank.

JB11 why do you only mention NOW that you have this happen with Brave? It's a known issue as far as I am aware and the forum search spits out multiple results.

In general, when you are dealing with software outside of what is preinstalled, please mention which software.

n3t_admin This is definitely one of those situations where one of us (me) didn't see the relevance of naming what browser I was/am using as it seemed like a keyboard or bitwarden issue.

And also I tried the brave flag mentioned in the provided url and that did not fix my issue.

In this future I'll do my best to mention every detail of my situation.

JB11 when you say it didn't fix your issue, does that mean that autofill options appeared and you changed autofill provider? You will also need to force quit the app or restart the phone for the changes to take effect.

n3t_admin I just now force closed Brave. I never changed the password manager, still Bitwarden, I reopened Brave and it still doesn't have the autofill working.

JimbobMcGibbon This worked, now Brave can autofill. That's a lot of troubleshooting for a function that seems baked into the operating system. Am I wrong?

JB11 that's a decision made by the Brave Browser team. I don't know why they do this, but I agree it's pretty annoying.
