How to Use Molly Across Multiple Profiles on GrapheneOS

I noticed some people asking about running Molly on a secondary user profile, so here’s what worked for me:

First, go into your device settings and make sure the secondary profile (the one with Molly installed) is allowed to run in the background. Without this, the app won’t stay active.
Once that’s enabled, open Molly on your secondary profile and generate the QR code.
Since you can’t scan it directly from the same phone, I used another phone to take a photo of the QR code.
Then, switch back to your main profile on your device, open Molly there, and scan the QR code from the photo.
Then, return to the secondary profile where Molly is installed and continue the setup process as prompted.

After doing this, I was able to successfully run Molly across both profiles on my Pixel 9a, and you only need to enable “allow to run in the background” during the setup process, because it keeps the app active while you switch between profiles. After setup, you can turn that permission off again.

My issue is Molly locks whenever I switch profiles even with lock and encryption disabled. I have web socket not push. Will you compare these details for your setup?

ThisOldGuy My goal was simply to get Molly running across two profiles on my Pixel 6a, and the method I shared worked for that. I had to allow the profile with Molly installed to run in the background, otherwise the app won’t stay active, also don't click “End session,” you need to switch users from the quick settings.
