Agreed, that should not be happening, but it does, fairly often. Maybe it's something specific to the head unit being used (Pioneer AVX) but if an Android Auto notice pops up on the phone while driving, the Pioneer screen goes black and says to stop the vehicle and check the notice. And, I have to disconnect and reconnect the phone in order to resume operation.
I did two things which may resolve that issue.
- Disabled network access for Android Auto, which from what I read elsewhere may keep it from checking for updates while in use.
- I also updated to the Beta version of Android Auto, which appears to be 15.3, and therefore will not cause the phone to let me know updates are needed.
Have been an iPhone user since 2007, so still getting used to having so many configuration options in so many places...
GrapheneOS This doesn't have anything to do with device generation.
