Try but Yono Lite is working now
YONO SBI LITE always worked, but you cannot make UPI payments with Lite version. You can only activate and deactivate UPI payments functionality for you bank account with it, that too only for SBI accounts (to my best knowledge).

I would rather use and I am using official BHIM app on an iOS device instead of any 3rd party UPI apps on android. These apps are riddled with adds and their add-ons like life-insurance ads, vehicle-insurances, gold-loans, etc. I remember I tried out PhonePe first time in 2023-24 and the home screen was itself repelling enough for me to keep using YONO SBI with bad UI. Plus, I am not comfortable involving any other 3rd party when it comes to finances, especially when the bank I use itself has it own app, NPCI has its own official UPI app - BHIM. I know all my payment history is stored and could be seen by NPCI and SBI, this is unavoidable. But, I don't want some other apps which are very less scrutinized to also get the info about my balance, where I am paying and what for. PhonePe, Cred and Navi apps has to make money somewhere to keep up with the development, I understand that. But, it also makes me not use them.
Recently, I got myself barely-used iPhone 17 and BHIM is working perfectly fine. IMHO NPCI's BHIM is the best UPI payments app. It is clean (somewhat), it is reliable and the best - it comes directly from NPCI. In last 30 days or so - not a single issue with any payments, plus on-boarding was also real quick and pain-free. I will accept that GPay is way worse when it comes to privacy, but Google surely knows how to make a clean UI.
