Private Lock F droid

What do you think about adding an app like Private Lock from F-droid to the second user profile. It uses a motion sensor and, if the phone is taken away, switches to lock mode, disables the fingerprint, and requires entering a password. I know that apps like Wanted, etc., weakened Graphenos. It allowed data recovery in fastboot mode, although Google patched a RAM vulnerability. Graphenos uses very strong security, and the only thing I'm missing is an app that locks the phone in case of movement. I'm not a high-security user; I simply like security.
I install the Private Lock app, granting it sensor permissions and giving it administrator rights, blocking the internet and other permissions.
Is it worth it? Because the app doesn't have internet access, but it does have admin access.

usernae23 I've used Private Lock before. Mainly just to test it though. It does work well and does what it says. Main reason I don't like it is that it has to run in the background and since I don't actually need it, I just got rid of it. But yes, it works as it says and you may find it quite useful

usernae23 you are at the end of the day likely going to get upset with false triggers, why don't you just disable fingerprint by default which is not very secure anyway and replace it with 6 digit random PIN, rather than giving a not very significant app admin privileges.

DeletedUser495 the difference is that private lock locks if your phone is snatched - preventing the possibility of someone obtaining your unlocked phone.

DeletedUser495 yeah sure. I agree. Until your phone is snatched out of your hand. What you just said there is ridiculous, because most people even when trying to pay attention get lost in an article they’re reading, for example. Or playing a game. Or changing music track. Unless one only gets their phone out in a place of solitude - but that’s expecting too much of most people and absolutely ridiculous to suggest when trying to use a device in a normal way.

mmmm you did not pay attention to my last post. I understand we don't all come with the same set of skills, but common sense asks you to perform risk assessment before commencing any activity or else.

DeletedUser495 100% - I agree! But you didn’t pay attention to what I said. That’s not possible for most people. Living in a city of millions of people, sitting on the metro system full of thousands of people. Using a map app to guide you through streets full of crowds of people. Sure - paying attention is the solution. It’s just not possible for most people to do that whilst trying to live a normal life using a device in a normal way.

DeletedUser495 unfortunately it’s not a small use case, and unfortunately yes it’s a bad solution but a workable one. It’s the kind of feature I wish was built in. The app in question hasn’t even been updated for years, I suppose one can never give it network access and review the code before hand - or fork it and remove 3rd parties entirely.
