Just in case someone stumbles upon it: there is another app in f-droid private lock .
This is by no means a recommendation as the github repo hasn't been updated since 2019.
It does work however on my pixel 8a with Notifications and Sensors allowed.
It will also ask for admin permissions (Settings -> Apps -> Special app access -> Device admin) which for such an old app should probably not granted. However, the app is listed but greyed out ("controlled by restricted setting") and when you tap it at popup says "App was denied access".
If - and that's a big IF- I read it correctly, this would mean that the app does not have Device admin access.
If I'm wrong, this might open a security hole.
Maybe someone can confirm or deny.
