My Pixel 7a has been experiencing severe battery issues.
The phone will suddenly drop from around 30%to 2% and shut down instantly. Alternatively, I see a rapid countdown from 30%, 29%, 28%... all the way to 0% followed by a shutdown, all within about 30 seconds. This makes the phone completely unreliable; if I need to make a call at 30%, I'm sure it would die immediately.
· Battery Health: The battery has approximately 427 cycles and I've always followed the 20%-80% charging rule.
· Usage Profiles: I use two profiles. On my primary profile, I have very few apps installed: Telegram, WhatsApp, Obsidian, and a FOSS calendar app. I do not use Google services.
· Background Usage: My background app consumption is practically negligible.
· Suspected Trigger: I'm not 100% sure, but I suspect the issue might be tied to mobile data usage rather than Wi-Fi.
I've attempted to screen-record the rapid drop to share as evidence, but it happens too quickly to capture.
I'm frustrated because I can't figure out the cause, and before september update everything work good. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for the big work behind this project
