The threat remains the same: if you're a criminal running Tor nodes, the feds are not going to arrest you for hosting Tor nodes, but for being a criminal. At least this time, no one is coming for you because of Tor nodes.
I also love that they spun their story like he's some innocent dude, but as all political stories of the last 6 or 7 decades tell us: reality rarely matches what is being told. In most cases crucial details are missing.
As a general rule of thumb I can recommend checking both sides of the story if possible; especially if it doesn't make sense (like in this case).
