Such2938 Pixel 6A, Owner profile Area size: 1cm x 1cm aprox Location: 1.3 cm BELOW the camera and .4 cm to the left (not centered). Up to 2cm aprox above the screen if hovering Goes back to normal when finger isn't in the target area. Still happening in the locked screen before logging into another profile. Stopped only when I logged into another profile. Happening globally across apps and in the lock screen too Has happened 2 different times, days apart. Trigger? seemingly random. This time I was browsing Firefox options when I noticed but could have started in another app. Directly over the camera does nothing, blocked or not Happens irrespective of what position the phone is held in or if the screen is rotated Toggles like Airplane mode, auto rotate, camera, etc have no influence it seems Covering the camera and then HOVERING over the area triggers the behavior too. It doesn't seem to be related to the camera. Looks like it's related to the proximity sensor. Anybody else?
mythodical That is where the light sensor is located, controlling the automatic display brightness and possibly other features. Is it simply dimming the screen when covered (expected) or switching it off entirely (unexpected)?
