Really need a solution - block unsolicited Bluetooth pairing requests

I've been fighting this but no solution. A neighbor's car keeps trying to pair with my GOS phone multiple times a day.

I have device scanning turned off under Location Services.

I cannot pair with her car to then block it.

I turned off notifications for Settings but BT pairing requests still come through.

And you can't just swipe them away. You HAVE to click Cancel.

This is beyond infuriating. What can I do to solve this?

That's sort of a brute-force solution. I thought of that and could go that route if no other method exists. But surely there is a way to set the phone to ignore pairing requests while still keeping the ones I do use, intact.

Speeduser7533 What happens if you pair with the car and don't give it access to contacts and call history? There's a fair chance that if you then deleted the pairing the car wouldn't know, and would be quiet.

You might temporarily change your device's name to "FBI surveillance" a few minutes before you expect a pairing attempt.

I read about this problem before. Permanently renaming your device was offered as a solution. The car's bluetooth supposedly has been paired with a device that uses the same name as yours.

@Speeduser7533, can you try some of the suggestions on the table and report back?

Pair with the car, restrict access
Pair with the car, restrict access, forget the device
Change the name your device reports

Even if a code change to manage Bluetooth pairing requests does become available, that is very unlikely to happen soon.
