Is gCompat-UP a private open source way of using fcm without needing to install Google play services?

More apps use fcm instead of unified push or other web socket options.

Would be perfect for graphene os unless it still needs Google play services installed

Yes i saw that. Confusion was if it replaces the fcm from play services or needs that installed?
