How did google know?

Installed grapheneOS on my pixel and had yet to sign into any google account. I was using vandium and duck duck go when I clicked on a article in a support.google website. Lo and behold my Gmail account was already there apparently signed in. I was using my home Wi-Fi and have play store/play services installed to try and use Google maps without signing in. Any ideas how this happened? Was it the Wi-Fi?

Not-Very-Probable you have signed in with Google somewhere in Vanadium. You should be able to track down when it happened in your Google account settings (somewhere under "security" afair). You might have also gotten an e-mail saying a new device signed in.

Looks like this is already solved, but make sure you're using a reputable VPN (i.e. Mullvad) if not already. If your google account knows your home's IP, google knows nearly everywhere you go whether you're signed in or not. Their APIs are baked into most mainstream sites.
