More seriously: how can anybody know when a complicated software artifact will be shippable before it is shippable?

I bet it will be more than two days, and I will be surprised if it's more than two months from, but it could plausibly be one week or one month... and surprises are possible!

I installed GOS on my Pixel 10 Pro XL yesterday. Worked flawless and didn't noticed anything weird yet. Thanks again to the amazing team!

Hey, thinking about pulling the trigger on a fold 10 but it's a pretty significant purchase for me. I'm fine with a little buggyness, but can anyone confirm the experience is at least functional on the fold?

Other than a few kernel crashes (about 3 in total over this first week since release of experimental) it works just as I'd expect it to work on my 10 Pro Fold.
The kernel crashes are a known issue that they're working on, once that's fixed it should go from being 99.9% daily driveable to 100%.

Just bought a Pixel 10 Pro XL, with trade in of my current device. Will arrive this week. Is GOS already stable enough to daily drive it or should I bite in the sour Apple and use Google Android for now?

lalkek My comment right above wasn't enough to tell you? Sure that was specific to the 10 Pro Fold, but it's the same.

It's 99.9% there, just one issue with kernel crashes that needs solved, which will probably be solved very soon.

lalkek Like the other person said, it's perfectly usable besides the occasional crashes on my 10 Pro XL. I maybe get one crash-reboot per day. Battery life seems a little worse for me compared to stock QPR2 beta, but that's not a fair comparison when QPR2 isn't available for GOS yet. And it's not so much worse as to harm my user experience.

I went from ending my days with 40-50% battery left over to now having 30-40% left (with 80% limit).

lalkek I've been using it on p10pxl since thursday or something. Two crashes the first day, zero since.

Pretty sure it is a hardware issue, returning pixel 10 pro for replacement, just flagging here in case anyone else has experience with it/as a data point in that event. I have only had the device for 3 days and flashed GOS on day 1. After the latest update today, I am getting very noticeable OIS rattle (seems to be more than normal). Probably has nothing at all to do with GOS but just mentioning in case anyone else has issues.

First time using GOS btw and its great, thanks for all your work, planning to flash it on the replacement.

Btw why does Pixel have an option to limit batter and it's at 80%? Why no 90% or 95%? I know unrelated question, but maybe someone can chime in and explain.

sergeisb12 80% is the commonly cited "best" percentage to charge to. That's all there is to it.

sergeisb12 The 80% limit is hardcoded in the google_battery HAL that controls the charging. It's a proprietary non-open-source component that comes from the stock OS. The only control it exposes to Android is whether the limit is on or off, not a specific percentage.

Does anyone experience connection problems with GOS Pixel 10 Pro XL? Device is on 2025113000. When connecting via USB cable Android Auto is not gering startend. Permissions are all allowed but log shows nothing when plugging in the USB cable. Working with my Pixel 6a.
