I think they said they thought there weren't any new security features but that they won't actually know until they have the new 10 in hand

The footnote clarifies that it is a direct comparison with the Tensor G4, so there should be generational improvements.

Now the impact/relevance of the improvements they tease is debatable since the Titan M2 seems to be the same silicon but just like the introduction of MTE with the Tensor G3 was not strictly tied to the Titan they could be potentially very impactful.
They seem to imply something has changed in regards with the Security co processor inside the SoC/Trusty.Maybe even the modem/radio/baseband altho that is purely speculation on my part.
We will just need to wait until the actual hw is in the hands of competent people with the required expertise to make an informed assessment.

Exhort14 1st post - I donated. Only been using GOS for 4 months, but I'm never going back to stock Android. My P7 will be fine for a couple of years, but I will keep an eye out for cheap NIB P9s.....

Personally I like the easy IMEI change on the Pixel 6-9 series, only requires a rooted A15 stock to fully change it.
Wonder if it will work on P10, if the modems are still Samsung it surely will.
"lexipwn" is the way if you know how to use the Android SDK. Tested with carriers, it is certainly a physical change.

We've received the Pixel 10 we ordered and have confirmed it supports unlocking, flashing another verified boot key and locking again.

Our Pixel 10 support will likely only be possible to complete after we finish porting to Android 16 QPR1 which is being released in September.

We've received confirmation that Android is switching to having quarterly releases across devices. There will be 3 quarterly and 1 yearly release of Android and the Android Open Source Project. Monthly releases are Pixel exclusive and will have far fewer changes than before.

nandohyphen1 Before an official announcement is made, many names will be mentioned in a speculative fashion, but anybody who knows will keep silent. Negotiations between businesses often work that way (and, depending on country, there may be legal requirements).

Samsung has some devices providing all of our security feature requirements but without permitting us to use all of them. Unfortunately, they're now fully dropping alt OS support instead of improving it as are several other OEMs.

Definitelly not, if you think about those 2, since they are basically a CCP branch. I'm pretty sure the lead developer will be hesitant to add anything Mediatek as well, according to their trainwreck record on patching security issues.

Yes, I'm aware, I just ruled out all possible "Huaweis" and cheap Chinese stuff. While it's perfectly ok for the device to be assembled in China, you can't realisticly trust any company based there to meet strong security requirements. GOS team knows it, and if the choice is between a Pixel and a noname OEM, the choice will be clear.

Personally I will switch to the latest unlockable Pixel after the Goog gang decides to lock them, if that happens. So in the worst case scenario we have until end of 2032 to figure out alternatives.

This troubles me a bit - the majority shareholders of Qualcomm (the ones that have the voting power on how the company operates) are the same as Google and Apple - and it is the leaders of those companies (the investment firms) - such as Larry Fink - CEO of BlackRock and now leader of the WEF, that are leading the attacks on the privacy of communications throughout the world.
