I'm guessing the only question that you asked that could reasonably be answered is:

Are there too many unknowns still (why Google is doing this and what will happen with their releases going forward) to really know?

And I'd guess the answer is yes.

There isn't. I wouldn't expect a pre-alpha before QPR1 integration.

In general, there isn't. Unless there is a specific need to show a suspected regression. In any case, the Pixel 10 pro fold isn't supported in any current or older build. If you want to help test other devices in pre-release, alpha, or beta check out the # testing chat.

Hi everybody, I just discover GrapheneOs, and thank you all for your time and work ! I would like to install Graphen OS. I have read most of the thread. I am checking to buy a Google pixel 9, and start the process. As it is costly, I would like to know, if you think that Graphene will still be able to support the security patches for android 15, thought Android 16 might get "blocked" for ever. Getting patches lates is not a problem. I think that somewhere Graphene Os said "it might be our last release". What I read on the thread is completely different.. Please excuse my english. What could be the situation in two years if google try to get rid of Graphene ? Will our phone still works ?

Rom GrapheneOS is based on Android 16 already. It's Android 16 QPR1 that Google has yet to push to AOSP, but we've applied all the available security updates anyway. We'll support the Pixel 9 (and hopefully soon 10) series until they're end-of-life.

I have been part of the 'patiently wait for Google to kindly release what we need to make GOS for Pixel 10 happen' club, but my phone has unexpectedly died and I now need to pick up a new phone.
I know that Pixel 10 support is still up in the air because of Google, so I am looking at the Pixel 9 (Pro).
With Google's lack of transparency regarding the above in mind, are we confident that developers for GOS will be able to continue to support Pixel 9 in the future? More specifically, is GOS still reliant on Google (AOSP) for anything with regard to supporting the Pixel 9 series?

I have a Pixel 10 Pro XL, and honestly, it’s quite surprising that months after launch there’s still nothing concrete beyond the official factory images.

It’s becoming pretty clear what direction Google is taking with AOSP — it’s less Android Open Source Project and more Android Closed Source Project now. Removing device trees and delaying AOSP pushes makes it harder for independent projects like GrapheneOS to support new devices in a timely way.

If you really want to use GrapheneOS right now, your best option is still to go with a Pixel 9. The Pixel 10 line might eventually be supported, but it’s obvious Google isn’t making that easy anymore

devkernel Pixel 10 will be supported by GrapheneOS but it's going to take more time due to the delay for Android 16 QPR1 tags being pushed to AOSP. Pixel 10, Pixel 10 Pro and Pixel 10 Pro XL can likely be nearly fully supported via the older release only partially based on the newer QPR1 code, although that isn't what we want to do and won't work for the Pixel 10 Pro Fold released this month rather than in August since it doesn't have an initial release not fully based on QPR1.

For some reason I thought Pixel 10 is supported so went ahead and bought it, but then when trying to install the OS it turned out not to be supported. :( Can't I install Pixel 9 version of GrapheneOS for the time being?
