Not receiving text SMS messages from group chats, but I can still send.

For whatever reason, I can't receive SMS messages from group chats. One-on-one text messages work just fine. I can also send text messages to group texts, and everyone will see them, but for whatever reason I can't receive messages from those group texts. I think this may be a permissions issue, but I don't know what the problem could be. Anyone know what the problem is? I'm on a Pixel 7 Pro. I've never had my phone associated with iMessage or iPhone, so I don't think that's the problem.

Upon further testing, it seems I can receive texts from some group chats but not from others. It also seems that I can receive from specific phone numbers but not from other phone numbers.

I did some testing with Google Messages and GrapheneOS' default Messages app, and this is what it looks like. Google messages appears to work just fine, but for whatever reason GrapheneOS' Messages app will inconsistently break in certain group chats while sending and intermittently receiving in others.

Are you able to send MMS?
Did you checked this setting in the messaging app :

3 dots > Settings > Advanced > Group messaging > Send a single MMS to all recipients

I keep all permissions allowed for the messaging app.

I had an issue where a couple of group chats didn't come through when iPhone users were using RCS (not that they had any clue what that was) and that never reached me through any SMS app, only through the Google Messages app.

I have SMS problems too. The sms i send are send twice with a delay of some minutes, and sometimes I receive SMS only weeks later.

Could be it's a problem of the phone provider, but I have the same provider and number since years and never had these problems.

MMS play no role in my case, MMS support was stopped in my country years ago.
