Tried installing GOS on my P9a and continue to get the Error: Failed to execute 'transferIn' on 'USBDevice': A transfer error has occurred. message. I have swapped cables and that hasn't worked. Any suggestions? I have searched and read which previous posts I found relative to my issue, but to no avail. TIA for any assistance.

How many of the cables are good cables? Swapping between less-than-good cables could yield this result. If not using Google's cable, it is good to have one from a reputable vendor that has both a speed rating and a power rating.

I could be -- though the cable is more common.

The message suggests that the installer was able to communicate enough to see the phone, then asked it for something, then was told by the USB layer that something went wrong. That's why the cable (which, again, is a very common source of trouble) seemed like a good suspect.

What is the exact sequence of events? Does the transfer work for a while before that message occurs? Which version of which OS is running? Which version of which browser? Is the phone sitting still on a flat surface during the installation attempt?

Yup. Could even be this bug related to the WebUSB driver. Although unlikely.
I'd suggest trying a different PC or browser. That seems to resolve 90% of these issues.
