Hidden SSID -- where to find it?

Hi, finally have a new 9a as upgrade from faithful old 4a. Without going into the merits/demerits of a Hidden SSID, suffice to say I have to use one for in-house (business) network.

Where/how do I connect to it. In the Network section it only shows visible SSIDs and no option that I can find for entering the hidden SSID.

Nope, I didn't then but after a cold boot I now do, but the security options are blacked out but it let me enter the SSID and I entered the password without defining the encryption protocol and it connected. It is a no-Internet network.
It asked me to turn off airplane mode before allowing the SSID. I had deleted (forget) the internet wifi prior to trying to add the local. Maybe confused it and hard reset sorted it out. But it should work while in airplane mode -- no? The old 4a has done so for many years.

Ahhh, if only I had bought the 4a-5G back then. ;)

Airplane mode on, WiFi on allows me to create a network. I don't have an actual hidden network right now to check if I could actually log into it. I don't understand why it shouldn't work with airplane mode on, as long as WiFi is on.

Thanks again, but I have just had to factory reset it (finger trouble with options LOL)
I have a new problem with the clean reset and will start a new thread. Network connection is now down the list a ways.
